This Shenzhen UGC video-shoot preparation checklist is for brand teams ready to request quotations: place sample condition and prohibited claims, real-person actions, shot tasks, a one-page script, Shenzhen attendance conditions and platform delivery formats in one table. This article focuses on pre-shoot preparation and acceptance fields; the linked solution page covers ongoing social short videos, ad assets and version matrices.
Write down the three kinds of rework in the procurement meeting first

The first kind of rework happens when the sample arrives and its pump head, packaging or accessories cannot be demonstrated continuously; the second when a creator can say the selling point but cannot complete the action; the third when the finished video returns and the brand wanted landscape for a product page while the media buyer wanted a vertical hook. I put these three issues in the first row of the sheet: if any is blank, do not schedule the shoot.
This is also the dividing line in Shenzhen on-site collaboration: once samples are sent from Bao’an or Longgang to the studio, the brief must name who counts them, who performs backup actions and who confirms captions on site, with deadlines.
Template 1: sample and real-person action fields
Copy the following five items into the request sheet; do not write only “show the product naturally.”
- Product condition: SKU, color, accessories, whether it may be unsealed, and how many consecutive operations each sample can support.
- Purchase question: Why is the user not ordering: cannot use it, fears inconvenience, or worries about size and results?
- Real-person action: unboxing, installation, button pressing, comparison, storage or cleaning; each action gets only one verifiable selling point.
- Prohibited wording: efficacy claims, absolute promises, competitor comparisons and unauthorized user testimonials that must not appear.
- Asset use: product-page demonstration, TikTok Shop video, Meta Reels ad, or organic content for the brand account.
The on-site rule is simple: if an action cannot be understood in three seconds, split it into “hand close-up + complete operation + result shot”; do not force an explanation with post-production captions.
Template 2: one-page script and shot-task sheet
Keep just six columns for each UGC script: seconds, image, dialogue or captions, camera position, lighting, acceptance point. Begin with a real conflict, such as “I cannot find the charging cable before leaving,” give action evidence in the middle, then show a product card or CTA at the end. The creator’s tone may be relaxed, but shot tasks cannot be.
- 0–2 seconds: a problem or action hook; no empty establishing shot.
- 3–8 seconds: direct demonstration, preserving continuity of hands, material and result.
- 9–15 seconds: add a close-up or side angle proving size, steps or usage limits.
- After 16 seconds: deliver the CTA, caption safe area and replaceable ending required by the platform.
Before the shoot, let the brand revise the script only once; on site, have the director, cinematographer and operations team confirm the first sample take together, then reproduce actions in volume. That saves a day compared with discovering that dialogue is non-compliant after ten videos have been shot.
Template 3: Shenzhen attendance coordination and studio conditions
Add four execution fields to the request: sample arrival time, studio duration, real-person and backup candidates, and on-site approver. Shenzhen UGC projects usually need half a day to a full day to make multiple action assets; reserve studio time for set changes, makeup touch-ups, sample cleaning and vertical camera positions. If a product involves water, powder, heat or food, specify countertop protection, backup samples and cleaning responsibility first.
Do not understand “studio shooting” as merely renting a white wall. The real budget difference comes from props, lifestyle settings, sound recording, lighting moves, a director guiding performance and on-site export of sample cuts. What truly matters is not the studio’s name, but whether these variables are broken into checkable items; only then can procurement tell whether it is buying a creator on camera or a complete deliverable asset package.
Template 4: platform versions and acceptance checks
Shopify states that product media may include images, 3D models and video, with the first media item serving as the primary media; the product-page version should therefore confirm the opening action and cover frame first. TikTok’s Video Shopping Ads can upload new videos or select videos already on the account; Meta recommends vertical format, audio and safe zones for Reels. The delivery sheet should at least check: 9:16 master, clean version without captions, captioned version, replaceable CTA ending, cover frame, rights and asset names.
Do not hand UGC compliance to the creator. Under the State Administration for Market Regulation’s Measures for the Administration of Internet Advertising, scripts, spoken copy, captions and media-buying labels all need a record in the acceptance sheet; the recommendation and endorsement boundaries of the Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China should also be included in dialogue review. Shenzhen cross-border e-commerce teams preparing overseas content can consult Shenzhen Commerce Bureau public information on brand globalization, and give samples, rights, language versions and product information to the production team together rather than adding materials after launch.
For platform checks, revisit Shopify product-media requirements, TikTok Shop Video Shopping Ads guidance and Meta Reels advertising guidance. When handing the brief, real-person demonstrations and platform versions to a production team, see the Shenzhen social-media short-video and advertising-assets solution, then check each item against the list.
Three real procurement questions
Can UGC be filmed with only one sample?
Yes, but write the number of times it can be unsealed, the cleaning method and backup parts into the sheet. For liquids, food or easily damaged structures, prepare at least one demonstration sample and one clean backup.
Can one UGC video serve both a product page and advertising?
The core action can be shared, but do not assume the same finished cut can be shared. Product pages prioritize a complete operation; ads prioritize the opening hook and CTA, so the request should list a master and short-cut version separately.
How soon can the first sample cut be confirmed on site in Shenzhen?
For a standard half-day project, the first sample cut can be confirmed in the first half of the day, provided samples, script, talent and the on-site decision-maker all arrive as scheduled.
